Young Khaled has had a lot to deal with in his sort life. His rare neurological disorder is causing progressive physical palsy and has left Khaled with profound hearing loss. Then, during the Israel-Hezbollah war he lost his home in an airstrike. He and his family have found support through the Learning Centre for the Deaf.

An estimated 12,000 children in Gaza have new disabilities caused by injuries they have suffered as a result of the current war. 5-year-old Malak is one of them.

The war has not only meant Sara and her family have had to flee from southern Lebanon but the sounds of explosions have also exacerbated Sara’s epilepsy, making it even harder for her to cope with the trauma of war. Embrace partner SKILD is working hard to help Sara and other children with additional needs caught up in the conflict.
