One of the Last Christians of Gaza?

The war in Gaza has not only had a profound effect on the health, education and community projects that Embrace has been supporting in Gaza, but it has also devastated the lives of many of our Christian friends and partners.

In this powerful video, Ramy Tarazi, who we’ve been working with since 2019, tells us what life has been like for him since war broke out in October. Ramy had been Managing Director of the Embrace-supported Arab Orthodox Cultural Centre (which was destroyed by IDF bombing in October) and spent many months sheltering in St Porphyrius Church. He has recently made the difficult decision to flee Gaza. Since the war began, many of Gaza's already small Christian community have fled and Ramy fears for the future of Christianity in Gaza.

Ramy’s story tells us about the important role of the Christian community in Gaza, especially in this time of war and destruction. His words reminds us that the loss of the Christian community in Gaza is also the loss of God's hands and feet showing the love and compassion of Jesus to a traumatised and broken population.

PLEASE JOIN US IN PRAYING FOR PALESTINIAN CHRISTIANS

As the war continues to cause devastation, your prayers are needed now, more than ever. We pray for Gaza’s Christians. For those still serving their communities in Gaza and those trying to rebuild their lives elsewhere. For all caught up in this conflict and for a just and lasting peace.
