OUR PRAYERS
PRAY WITH US
Embrace’s Christian partners face many challenges working in situations of conflict, injustice and poverty. We ask you to join us in praying for the health and resilience of all our partners and their communities. You can download our prayer diary and find more prayer resources in our Prayer Room.
Weekly devotion: Christ is risen!
This week we’re rejoicing in the resurrection message of hope at the heart of the Christian faith. We’re meditating on some encouraging words in 1 Peter and offering supplications for our Christian partners in the Middle East and the marginalised communities they support.
Weekly devotion: Pray for our partners in Gaza
Even before the devastating violence that began in October 2023, healthcare in the Gaza Strip was under extreme pressure due to the Israeli blockade. This week, join us in praying for our partner the DSPR-NECC as they provide vital healthcare services at their Rafah clinic.
Weekly devotion: A surprising encouragement from the parable of the talents
This week we’re praising God for our incredible volunteers, who selflessly give their time and energy to support Embrace. We’re also meditating on a surprisingly encouraging lesson we can learn from Jesus’ parable of the talents.
Weekly devotion: What does it mean to hope in God?
This week, we’re praying for a project we support in northern Iraq, which is helping the Christian community to rebuild their damaged homes and businesses. We’re also reflecting on what it means to hope in God.
Weekly devotion: Challenging our preconceptions about God on International Women’s Day
This week, we’re praying for the Life School project in Egypt - and reflecting on Jesus’ treatment of women, and how this can encourage us today.
Weekly devotion: Knowing God’s presence in dark times
This week, join us in praying for Al-Kafaat’s Notre Dame School in Lebanon, an inclusive school that supports children with disabilities to thrive in a mainstream environment.
Weekly devotion: Social justice is not an optional extra
This week, to mark the World Day of Social Justice, we’re praying for our partners across the region as they strive for peace with justice amid some of the most challenging situations in the world.
Weekly devotion: Learning from others
This week we’re praying for a project we support that works with young people to tackle some of the root causes of growing violence in Arab communities in Israel. We’re also reflecting on the biblical idea of mentorship, and why it is important.
Weekly devotion: Finding joy and strength in times of overwhelm
It is one year since the earthquake that devastated parts of Turkey and northern Syria. We’re learning how our local partners are continuing to support families and we’re reflecting on how we can find the strength to serve God for the long haul.
Weekly devotion: Putting love into action
This week we’re giving thanks for the generosity of all of Embrace’s supporters - and challenging ourselves to think about how we can put love into action.
Weekly devotion: What does it mean to take refuge in God?
This week we’re praying for our partner, Al-Kafaat, in Lebanon. Their rehabilitation centres provide free-of-charge special services to some of the most vulnerable people living with disabilities.
Weekly devotion: What motivates you to serve others?
This week we’re praying for our partner, Refuge Egypt, a Cairo-based organisation that serves refugees, asylum seekers and migrants living in Egypt.
Weekly devotion: Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus in 2024
The year 2024 marks 170 years since Embrace the Middle East’s beginnings as the Turkish Missions Aid Society. As we look back at this incredible legacy of faithful partnership with Middle East Christians, we are reflecting on what it means to live in relationship with the ultimate Faithful One.
Weekly devotion: Reflecting on God’s love
This week we’re praying for our partner, Think and Do, in Egypt. Among the many things it does, it runs a shelter and recovery programme for female survivors of domestic abuse, based in Cairo.
Weekly devotion: Remembering mothers and babies in Gaza
This week we’re praying for our partner, the Near East Council of Churches, in Gaza. Find out about their vital work with mothers, babies and young children - and join us in reflecting on the birth of another baby, over 2,000 years ago, in the same part of the world.
Weekly devotion: Walk in the way of love
This week, we are giving thanks for the invaluable contributions of all those who volunteer for Embrace. We are also reflecting on some verses in Ephesians, which exhort us to ‘walk in the way of love’.
Weekly devotion: Finding hope in a village where Jesus walked
Just as this Palestinian village was a place of refuge for Jesus and his disciples, the small clinic we support there is a place of safety and hope today.
Weekly devotion: Spending time in God’s presence
We’re learning about a joyful project in Dbayeh refugee camp, where women are learning to create beautiful and useful products from recyclable materials. We’re also reflecting on Psalm 24, rejoicing in God’s care for the whole of his creation.
Weekly devotion: Loving others without limits
