PRAY WITH US
Embrace’s Christian partners face many challenges working in situations of conflict, injustice and poverty. We ask you to join us in praying for the health and resilience of all our partners and their communities. You can download our prayer diary and find more prayer resources in our Prayer Room.
Weekly devotion: Choosing Compassion over Judgement
Within the fragile ceasefire, Gaza is facing a catastrophic humanitarian situation. The dedicated staff of DSPR are doing everything they can to help people get the healthcare and everyday essentials they so desperately need.
Weekly devotion: Resurrection Hope in a Wounded World
The hope of Easter is a declaration that suffering does not have the final word, and that God’s presence does not waver, even in the most desperate situations. Christ’s resurrection is a promise that even in the worst circumstances, God is at work – as he said.
Weekly devotion: A New Song for Survivors
In the safety of Anafora, women rediscover their worth and find the voice that has been denied them throughout their lives. Their ‘new song’ is one of renewed confidence that, in time, will bring strength to others too.
Weekly devotion: Standing Together Across the Miles
While our partners serve in the midst of conflict and hardship in the Middle East, supporters stand alongside them through generosity and faithful prayer. We all have different roles in different places, yet one shared purpose. To God, no act of support is small, and no prayer goes unnoticed.
Weekly devotion: Discarded by Society, Welcomed by Christ
Jesus asks us to remember those in prison. This week we pray for our partners in Lebanon - The House of Light and Hope - working for the rights and dignity of incarcerated women, and supporting them to thrive on release.
Weekly devotion: How can we clothe ourselves in compassion?
The women in Musalaha’s reconciliation programme are choosing to learn and understand each other in a context shaped by a history of deep pain. Their courage shows how reconciliation begins quietly, in hearts willing to listen and forgive.
Weekly devotion: Called to Defend the Vulnerable
In the slum area of Ezbet el Nakhl in Cairo, violence, addiction and disease are an ever-present reality. In the heart of this challenging environment, the Salaam Centre offers refuge and hope for women and girls experiencing violence and abuse.
Weekly devotion: Rooted in Faith, Growing in Action
In Ankawa, a mostly Christian community just north of the city of Erbil, the younger generation is stepping up to tackle climate change. May the trees they plant and the initiatives they lead become signs of hope and renewal in their community. Let us all respond with faith and action to the climate crisis, growing in courage and responsibility.
Weekly devotion: Planting a Sustainable Future
In 2022, Rahbe’s Evangelical Baptist Church launched a sustainable agriculture project to help local families overcome hunger and hardship. Now, managed by Embrace partner MERATH and funded by your generous donations, 100 households benefit from the fresh vegetables grown and the milk, eggs and meat from shared community livestock.
Weekly devotion: Defending Dignity & Renewing Strength
Freedom of movement is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and woven into the dignity God gives every person. It is hard to persevere when rights are denied and hope feels distant, but the work of The Society of St Yves shows how a steadfast commitment to justice gets results.
