Weekly devotion: You matter, just as you are

SKILD Centre, Lebanon

The SKILD Centre, Lebanon

In Lebanon, where resources for children with learning difficulties are scarce, Embrace’s partner, the SKILD Centre, stands as a beacon of inclusion and hope. SKILD (Smart Kids with Individual Learning Differences) provides assessments, one-to-one support, and therapy for children with conditions such as dyslexia, ADHD, and autism.

They also train teachers in inclusive education, equipping schools to recognise and support each child's unique potential. In a system that often leaves struggling learners behind, SKILD’s work affirms a powerful truth: every child is capable, valuable, and deeply loved. Through their holistic approach, SKILD is not only changing classrooms, but transforming lives.

Bible reading

"…those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable... God has put the body together… so that its parts should have equal concern for each other."

1 Corinthians 12:22-25

Thought

Paul’s words challenge a world that overlooks difference. In God’s eyes, every member of the body is indispensable—especially those seen as weaker. The SKILD Centre reflects this vision by lifting up children who might otherwise be ignored or misunderstood. Their work says: you matter, just as you are. As they train teachers to see strength in difference, they remind us that the body of Christ is stronger when all are included and supported.

Ask yourself: Where in my own community can I be part of God's work to comfort and restore?

Prayer

Loving God,
Thank You for the work of the SKILD Centre,
and for every child made in Your image.
Bless their teachers with wisdom and patience.
Help us build communities where all are seen,
all are supported, and none are left behind.
Amen.
