The UPR process and why we need to speak out today
In January 2027, the United Nations will review Syria’s human rights record through a process called the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). The process allows other states to recommend changes. It’s a key opportunity for the UK Government to speak up for justice, dignity and protection. By raising Embrace’s report with your MP today you can help to influence the recommendations the UK Government will take to the UN in January.

Embrace’s report was submitted as part of the UN’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process. The report and the UPR process is an opportunity to ensure that the voices of Christians in Syria are heard by both the UK government and Syria’s transitional authorities.
