A PRAYER IN RESPONSE TO THE CHOLERA OUTBREAK

Refugee camp in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.

God of healing and hope we pray for all those who suffer as a result of war, poverty, injustice and neglect. We pray particularly for the people of Lebanon and Syria as they face the cholera outbreak. We pray for the refugee families that cannot afford a doctor, for those with no access to sanitation or clean water, for those facing their illness whilst living in a tent or makeshift shelter.

We pray for the medical teams and NGOs responding to the crisis, including Embrace’s partners MERATH, Tahaddi and the Karagheusian Centre. Bless their work, give them tenacity and hope in the face of overwhelming need and fill them with the power of your Spirit to sustain them during this season.

We pray for the bereaved, particularly for those who have lost children. Wrap your Holy Spirit around them that they may know your peace and love.

Stir our hearts to respond to the needs of our sisters and brothers in Lebanon and Syria and bring us with them into your eternal kingdom.

Amen
