WHAT IS LIFE LIKE FOR IRAQ’S CHRISTIAN MINORITY?
Join Tim Livesey as he speaks to Bashar Warda, the Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil (in the northern region of Iraq). Archbishop Warda talks about growing up in Saddam’s regime in Iraq and some of the challenges that come with being a Christian in Iraq. He speaks about the impact of the US-led 2003 invasion on the church - and why it ultimately led around two-thirds of the Christian community to leave the country.
Listen in to find out about the present-day situation of Christians in Iraq and discover why - in spite of the challenges - the Archbishop is hopeful for the future. You will also have the opportunity to reflect on what western Christians can learn from the richness, diversity and plurality of the Church of the East.
