In this episode, our former CEO Tim Livesey speaks with Violette Mubarak, the general director of the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre. They discuss how the Centre is helping Palestinian families; the complexities of navigating permits and checkpoints between East Jerusalem and the West Bank; and the incredible work of the Centre’s staff in Gaza.

The Princess Basma Centre is a longstanding partner of Embrace. It provides services for children with disabilities in Palestine, including rehabilitation therapies and helping families to better support their children at home. More recently, it has opened a satellite unit on the premises of Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City. The Centre’s staff in Gaza City treat children with acute injuries and long-term disabilities.

In this episode, Violette speaks about the impact the Centre has on families with disabilities in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. She also shares about the daily realities her staff in Gaza face - many of whom have been displaced several times themselves - and why she never fails to be inspired by them.
